A variety of styles are taught here: contemporary, B-boying and breaking, Bollywood, hip hop, belly dancing and salsa. 3. Shiamak

Shiamak Davar needs no introduction. He has choreographed award shows, Commonwealth Games ceremonies (2006 and 2010) and songs for movies like Dil To Pagal Hai, Dhoom, and many more. So, Bollywood fans – this is where you need to go to dance like your favorite stars. This academy offers short performance-based workshops throughout the year, famous as the trademark Summer/Winter/Monsoon Funk Workshops open to people of all ages. The motto of the academy is – “Have feet. Will dance.” – thus they take students from age four to eighty-four in their classes. The dance is described as “multistyle” but primarily Bollywood, unique to Shiamak. 4. Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya

The institute was founded by late Shri R S Verma, a musician, in 1972, with the goal of propagating India’s rich legacy of music and performing arts. It has more than thirty centers in Delhi. TSM offers diploma and degree courses in Indian Classical Dances such as Kathak and Bharatnatyam, as well as in dances of various states. Certain Western styles like ball room, hip hop and rock n roll are also taught here. The duration of each course is at least a year and is divided into various levels.

5. Triveni Kala Sangam

Founded in 1950 by late Smt. Sundari K Shridharani, Triveni Kala Sangam has evolved to become a cultural centre of Delhi. Located in Mandi House, the institute boasts of a splendid infrastructure designed by Joseph Stein, containing lecture halls, open spaces and an auditorium. 6.Big Dance Centre

BDC was founded by Atul Jindal and Karan Kumar (of Blue Eyes fame), both graduates of Broadway Dance Centre in New York. The academy offers classes in contemporary, street jazz, freestyle, hip hop, belly dancing and urban forms of dance. They also have a three-month professional course called Professional Dance Study Program for those wishing to take up dance as a career. Their mission is to “develop charismatic dancers who will contribute to the wellbeing of art, culture and society.”
